Friday was my birthday and I didn't even remember until I got a letter from my mum. I think most everyone else forgot, too, which is okay because, really, what do you get people for presents right now?
Anyway, I'm officially eighteen, which means that any drunken debauchery I might've taken part in would've been legal, but this time, I think we'll refrain because I don't want to think what the Carrows would do to my toothbrush if they caught me.
Last year, on my birthday, I was ----------
Oh, well. I have a lot of coursework to do and really need to work on Transfiguration.

Just writing to say that I hope everyone is having a good Christmas or whatever they celebrate or just a good day off, if that's what you do on December 25th. Christmas isn't terribly exciting for me because I've never celebrated Christmas, except that my dad usually cooks a lot (because there's nothing else to do) and we hope there's a good film opening that day. It's actually Hanukkah right now, too, but since it's the third night, Mum and I have gotten rather tired of it and just lit the menorah and did other things. It's hard for it to be the holidays without my dad and my brother here. Especially because my mum is a terrible cook and she's exhausted recipes she can actually do and insists that I shouldn't cook because... I don't know. So we ordered Chinese tonight and watched Christmas specials on television and made sarcastic remarks.
Did you know that many popular Christmas songs were actually written by Jewish people? Including but not limited to: "The Christmas Song" (you know... the one about chestnuts and mistletoe), "White Christmas," "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer," and "Silver Bells." I'm not really certain how that works, because I don't think that I could write a convincing song about Christmas, but I guess if you've got to make money, "S'vivon" isn't going to get much radio play in December. Not that I blame the radios much. That song is kind of annoying and most of the ones about Christmas are better.
I will probably actually send gifts tomorrow. I'm sorry. I suck.

I feel like Dr. Frankenstein.
And I miss football more than I miss Quidditch. Don't hurt me for saying so.

That is Tracey Davis. She keeps demanding that I draw her. Perhaps now that I did, she'll stop giving certain people the wrong idea by drawing me holding hands with her and a heart-shaped balloon.
I hate Mondays. And Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. But Mondays especially. Weekends are somewhat better. I've found that, since I don't actually do any work for Muggle Studies, I have one less class's worth of homework to do on weekends, affording for more relaxation time than last year. This is one good thing about this yaer.

Why is it that, all of a sudden, people are convinced I have a social life? I think I'm being given more credit than I deserve.
